Not wanting to be left behind the recently concluded KALKAB retreat/outing in Mindoro, some YMCA members led by its president Marge Franco together with Rev. Mark Guinto and Deaconess Fe Guinto also followed suit. The group left at dawn last May 1 (Labor Day) with Bro. Ike Undag bringing them to Batangas port. There they proceeded immediately to Puerto Galera, a popular summer destination in Mindoro. After getting tanned, henna tattoos, massages and lunch, the group were fetched by no less than Rev. Manding Villao, the district superintendent of Batangas-Mindoro area. Passing thru Tamaraw Falls, the group posed for some pictures.
They spent the night at Villao Christian Farms in Naujan. The following day, the group went to the nearby river flowing from Mt Halcon where they renewed their respective commitments. Returning to the farm, the group assessed their activities, thanked their hosts, packed their things, went around Calapan City before boarding the ferryboat back to Batangas. Tired but elated, the group thanked the Lord and prayed that such activities be held more often, with more members joining.
