KAL-KAB NOW CERTIFIED RECORDING ARTISTS

IMG_0888

Our KAL-KAB orgs are now certified recording artists after having finished their recording session last November 15,2008. It took the group a little over four (4) hours to finish their song. The Women's Org were the first to record their track while the Men's Org waited patiently for them to finish. The men passed the time exchanging jokes, stories and anecdotes and the wome did the same while waiting for the men. They were confident that they would finish their track in less the time it took for the other group  to finish theirs. Both men's and women's group had a great time and all agreed that it was quite an experience for them. They even boasted that their song would be the carrier single of the CD. Seeing them working so hard practicing and recording till midnight was such an inspiration.

After being certified recording artists, the soon to be out CD can now be said to be a certifiable hit, with the singers being the first buyers, its sales would certainly hit gold.

The group was led by their conductor Ms. Camille Estiva, daughter-in-law of Pred. Tess Estiva. She is shown leftmost on the the picture above.More pictures can be seen at the Choir Recording Photo Album (see right column)

DAWN WATCH SEVENTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Our Dawn Watch celebrated last November 8, 2008 its 7th year founding anniversary. The celebration was led by Pred. Glo Bacani together with Rev. Gianan, Rev. Guinto and Rev. Yanuaria.  Pred. Ruben Lacsamana narrated to the body how he and now Rev. Rey Domingo always argue and debate on biblical and secular matters. He added that inspite of their frequent debates which almost always end in raised voices, they never forget to end their discussions with a prayer. With this exercise, they thought of why not make their regular prayer session a permanent thing. Thus, Dawn Watch was born.

Dawn Watch is an activity held every Saturday mornings, around 5:AM focused mainly on members giving their personal testimonies, prayer requests, thanksgiving or have simply something to share to the members. Members in turn provide intercessory prayers to those that needs it or have requested for it. Their testimonies provide strength and inspiration to those who need encouragement. A short exaltation are also given by just about any member chosen for the day.

Every Saturday, after the prayers, breakfast fellowship follows before attendees go to their respective activities for the day.

Everyone is invited to attend Dawn Watch and feel the warmth of an early morning prayer fellowship.

CHOIR HALFWAY THROUGH ITS RECORDING

IMG_0742

Our choir is almost halfway through its recording intended to form part of our Silver Anniversary celebration. The proposed CD they are making would include original compositions, cover songs and choir anthems chosen from its repertoire. The Choir thru the leadership of Phoebe Villao, Che de Jesus and Choir conductor Pio Vizcara has successfully steered the group to record songs meant to inspire its listeners and more importantly to praise and glorify our God.

The group does its recording at the MASHTEB Recording studio located at BF Resort Las Piñas. Sam Almariego, the owner and recording engineer has been very supportive and helpful to the group. Together, they spend whole nights sometimes ending in dawn just to edit and record the songs.

Up next on the recording schedule is the much awaited song of the KAL-KAB group. Just thinking of the their upcoming activity and one is assured of the fun and blessings it will generate. Their pictures would be uploaded next.

Reservations for the CD can now be placed. Hurry as there are limited copies available. But wait...if you order now...

SENIOR CITIZEN TOUR!!

A0038

{Written by Pred. Ed de Jesus}

VIEW PHOTO ALBUM (53 PHOTOS)

Last September 27(Saturday), the Kalalakihan/Kababaihan Brigade took the SENIORS to a Tour of the Metropolis and get away from it all from the 4 walls of their houses.

In a "tourist bus" kono, we started from the Church then proceeded thru Coastal Road, Roxas Blvd until the Blue Wave. While on the road, singing was inspired by Ate Angie & accompanied by Pred Nonoy on the guitar. The song a Kristianong Sr ay hindi amoy lupa but Alikabok, hihihi. We took breakfast at Jollibee then went thru Mall of Asia (hindi na namin nilakad sa luob, dahil you know, we did not want to tire the Seniors). Then moved towards Buendia, left thru Taft Ave. Meanwhile, si Sweet ni Ka Fely naglead ng games inside the bus...Wow it was hilarious. Afterwards, Kundiman song of old was sang ala Karaoke. Did you know that Ka Beth Baking had a beautiful rendition of Dahil Sa'yo!!. While along the way, a Tour Guide kono of the memento of the places along Taft, Lawton, Mc Arthur Bridge and Plaza Sta Cruz and Shoe Mart was explained by me (hahaha).

We then went to Intramuros'Fort Santiago where J Rizal was jailed before his death by a firing squad. Then, kain kami ng Sandwiches prepared by the Mark & Evelyn Llerena...until we stopped at the Luneta Quirino Grandstand!! (jingle break) then Games lead by Ka Fely. Then we rolled towards Buendia area, we ate our Lunch at 130pm at Rosie's Pancit Malabon. Wow that was an experience and the last leg was homeward bound.

But Atty Ligsay (who was with us at the bus)had prepared a special pasta cum drums stick at her residence sa Posadas Vill. Thus we had to make the stop over sa kanila and Victor Woods's minus one was played and singing ensued.... Eto mas maganda, when CARMELITA was sung, everybody Danced the Cha Cha!! It was really an exercise with fun, ngayon ko lang nakita si Ruben at Vicky dancing. Then a serious part of the afternoon was the Message from the Holy Bible by Rev J Gianan..afterwards, the 10 commandments for Seniors was rendered by Ka Remy and followed by a Seniors Song to the tune of the Sound of Music???..then bye bye time and Mwah mwahs. Homeward bound to the Pamplona Iemelif Church, on the way home a "pasalubong" thru the courtesy of the Undags were distributed inside the the bus.

At touch down (PIC parking lot), pinagsalo- salohan pa ang napaka sarap na calamay!! (para sana almusal e naging merienda sa hapon)

We thank all those in one way or another who shared their talents, presence, efforts, joy and valuable time to be with our Seniors. God bless you!! Prais the Lord Jesus!!!
